Happy Friday, Ladies and Gentlemen! I hope you enjoyed the first winter holiday, but another one is rapidly approaching!
Whether you celebrate Christmas or Kwanza, another gathering is coming up that you must be prepared for!
And I don't know about you all, but good beverages are often neglected during the holiday season.
There is often only soda or water, but sometimes we need a little libation to navigate the many people we will see during the holiday season.
If you know what I mean, then you know what I mean.
But, in addition to hanging out with friends and family, Holiday parties at work are also coming up. Therefore, I want to share a few ideas on what you can bring to the next Holiday party or gathering.
#1: Charcuterie Boards for Holiday Parties!
They are effortless to make, but the impact is essential!
You can decorate a charcuterie board like a Christmas Tree or make the board into a Santa Claus or Holiday wreath!
There are so many ways you can make it; if your co-workers don't eat meat, there are also options.
Check out Pinterest for suggestions on creating one, or let the holiday spirit guide you on how to make one.
#2: A Sweet Libation for those Family Gatherings!
A sweet libation can help you get through the sticky moments with family and doesn't always have to include alcohol.
One drink that can be made, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, for the holiday season is a lovely Holiday Sangria.
For those who drink alcohol, you can utilize a form of red or white wine. But, for those who don't like wine, you can make a sangria with a dark rum or a brandy.
And, to those who don't want a headache after the drink, you can use sparkling mineral water, lemon-lime soda, or apple cider!
Most Holiday sangrias include fresh fruit (cranberries, apples, raspberries, oranges), star anise, cinnamon sticks, sugar, and apple cider!
What's even better about making a Holiday Sangria is that you can make it in advance; the earlier you make it, the better it tastes.
Let me know if you try a Holiday Sangria for your next holiday gathering!
#3: Festive Hot Chocolate for the Kiddos:
I never want to forget the little ones in our lives, so I suggest creating a Hot Chocolate bar in your house or at the next holiday gathering.
It can be simple or luxurious!
These items can be picked up from the grocery store, dollar store, and even AMAZON!
You only need your favorite hot chocolate or MILO to get the job done.
You can add marshmallows, your favorite form of milk!
And one of my favorite things to add to my hot chocolate is cinnamon; let me tell you, it makes a difference!
You can use whipped cream, chocolate, or candy canes if you're trying to get extra fancy.
#4: A Little Black Cake for Those You Love!
If you grew up in a Caribbean household, you know that black Cake or Christmas Cake is one of the most requested things during the holiday or celebration season.
The rum-soaked fruit cake leaves everyone in a great mood.
And, if you have been watching Black Cake on Hulu like I have, then you know it's time to order one or start baking it with the ones you adore (Almanaseer & Fuentes, 2023)!
There are many ways to make it, but I suggest calling someone who does it regularly for the recipe!
Well, y'all, you have four suggestions for your holiday season! Let me know in the comments if there is anything else we should bring to our holiday gatherings or if you will get any of these things to your next party!
I will see you all in 2 WEEKS!
Peace & Prosperity,
Jadis “IHateAdulthood” DeShong-Venay
